Heavyweight great Mike Tyson is known for the impeccable violence, that he displayed inside the boxing ring during his prime. However, he is much more than just a boxer. Aged 54, Tyson is nothing less than a philosopher.
He has been through several good and bad phases of life and has honed himself through variant situations. That said, Mike Tyson believes in mediation to get hold of his mind and activity. As he speaks openly about his life, Tyson recently revealed that he mediates quite and often and opened up with his views on it.
In interaction with Saquan Barkley, Tyson said, “It’s just subconsciously visualizing. You mean I mean you focus on the issue, with every iota and your molecules and everything.”
He further opened up on his reaction towards meditating and revealed that he almost died in those mediation sessions.
Speaking on it, the former heavyweight champion added, “I pretty much die, when I am meditating and stuff, I am like a borderline showman. I use plant and animal medicine, I won’t say I have been enlightened. But I have had divine feelings.”
Tyson has often been through several spiritual transformations in his life. After a certain stage, he even changed his religion to have a different outlook on life. Meanwhile, he seems attached to his beliefs as he shed opinion on the necessity of meditation. But he always remained a boxer first and even at the age of 54, Tyson still has the urge to lace up the gloves.
Mike Tyson and his boxing role remains the same
A few months back, Tyson returned to the squared circle in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. It was an eight-round fight where Tyson ended his 15-year-log hiatus from professional boxing. Although the fight ended as a draw, ‘Iron’ Mike showcases his skills at the best.
He further vowed to accept more such challenges. That said, a trilogy fight with Evander Holyfield is also possible. Apart from that, Tyson has several business ventures and a podcast to look after.
