This workshop, led by Karen Pierce, 500 HR e-RYT offers a basic overview of yoga philosophy with an emphasis on the Krishnamacharya lineage. Krishnamacharya is the source teacher to everyone who is involved in modern day yoga in that he is the “teacher of teachers”. Krishnamacharya described all the different yoga categories as belonging together as an integrated holistic approach to be adapted to the needs of each individual.

Classically, Raja Yoga (Royal Yoga) is considered the supreme path with meditation as its central “yoga”; all other branches and practices of yoga are simply preparations or support for this central practice.

We will explore the history and paths of yoga, Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga (8-limbed yoga), basics of Yama and Niyama, and the importance of Guru.

Pricing: Single session $39
