ROCKFORD — The University of Illinois Extension is offering educational cooking kits for National Nutrition Month in March.
Kits are designed to help youths gain confidence working in the kitchen and educate them about healthy eating plans. This project is ideal for families to work on together or for youth with cooking experience. Youths will learn to make either hummus or a chickpea salad wrap and how to individualize the recipes to fit their family’s needs.
Kits include the March “I Made That!” booklet, a sensory evaluation, chickpea recipes and a reusable 8-inch, four-section MyPlate. Kits will be available for pick-up the second week of March. Kits will be offered while supplies last.
